Welcome to Babou 691!

Welcome to Babou 691, an online magazine dedicated to the surreal and the bizarre in literature, film, and art! Editors Zé Burns and Amy M. Vaughn have been hard at work, creating a place to discuss and celebrate what they love most. This magazine was years in the making and we are thrilled to share it with you.

The site has already been populated with articles for you to peruse at your leisure. Feel free to stay and browse. Hopefully, this gives you a look at what our content will be like. Several articles we would recommend:

We have a great line-up of content coming this month, including the following columns and series:

“Refresher Course” – A little rusty on Surrealism, Dada, and the history of the bizarre? Zé Burns will provide crash courses on these movements and the players involved.

“Mumbo Jumbo at the Movies” – Podcasters KKUURRTT and Tex Gresham interview each other about surreal films with witty repartee.

“Convulsive Beauty” – Author Daulton Dickey examines various avant-garde movements through the lens of human perception. A must read.

“Arcade Anomalies” – Author/Performer Michael Allen Rose takes a humorous look at some of the weirdest vintage video games out there.
